2011 cAPITAL projecT OVERVIEW

Woodstock Hydro is undertaking several capital projects this year to ensure continued safety and reliability of your electricity supply.

WOODMAY subdivision reconstruction includes voltage conversion from the 4 Kv to 27.6 Kv  distribution system. This upgrade will include transformer replacement and a fully ducted cable system to provide additional cable protection. Meter bases and incoming line conduits are also replaced during construction.

Wellington-Victoria street rebuild will include mostly overhead reconstruction and an upgrade from 4 Kv to 27.6 Kv. To ensure the mature tree canopy in this area is preserved, we are working closely with City arborists to apply construction techniques that will not damage healthy trees.

Commerce Way TS is a new 27.6 Kv transmission station that will be constructed by Hydro One networks in partnership with Woodstock Hydro. Woodstock and area is expected to attract continued interest and relocation for both industry and residential customers. In addition, renewable energy expansions will require access to the local system. This new station will provide needed redundancy and expansion capacity once in service around mid-2012.

Commerce Way Phase 2 Line construction is a new commercial development area that is presently not serviced. A 27.6 Kv overhead expansion will ensure the new Commerce Way Transformer station can supply power into Woodstock Hydro’s existing distribution system.

County Road 4 Extension is a crucial link between the new Commerce Way TS and north Woodstock. A new 27.6 Kv overhead distribution system is scheduled for construction that will provide both Woodstock Hydro and Hydro One Networks with access to the City and beyond. The second phase of this project will allow for the final Long Term Load Transfer (LTLT) customer group to be supplied by the appropriate LDC and thereby meet Ontario Energy Board requirements to eliminate LTLT connections by 2012.

Many other customer specific capital improvements will occur In addition to these capital projects.

Please feel free to call us should you have any questions about these or other unplanned improvements as they may arise.
